Officers from Fawkner Divisional Response Unit charged a man following two firearms incidents in Melbourne’s north-west this week.
It is alleged the man discharged a firearm from inside a vehicle on East Street in Hadfield on 10 August about 9.30pm.
No one was injured during the incident.
It is alleged the same vehicle was involved in a road rage incident where a firearm was pointed towards the victim on Mahoneys Road in Campbellfield on 11 August about 7.30pm.
Yesterday, officers executed a search warrant at a property in Lalor and located an array of items including firearms and drugs.
The victim was not physically injured.
A 19-year-old man was taken into custody and has since been charged with:
- possess a traffickable quantity of firearms
- possess unregistered general category handgun (x4)
- possess loaded firearm in a public place (x2)
- use a loaded firearm in a public place
- possess cartridge ammunition without license or permit
- reckless conduct endanger life
- armed with firearm with criminal intent
- possess prohibited weapon without exemption/approval
- traffick cocaine
- possess cocaine
- possess cannabis
- handle/receive/retention of stolen goods
- drive whilst authorisation suspended
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
