A man has been charged following an investigation into a number of alleged break and enters targeting rural properties on the state’s South Coast.
In May 2026, officers attached to South Coast Police District Rural Crime Investigations and Nowra Proactive Crime Team established Strike Force Skive in May 2026 to investigate a number of alleged break, enter and steal offences committed at rural and remote locations in Berry, Budgong and Gerroa.
Following inquiries, about 9am yesterday (Tuesday 15 September 2026), strike force investigators executed a search warrant at a property on Lillian Place, Bomaderry where they arrested a 40-year-old man.
During the search warrant, officers allegedly located and seized a large quantity of machinery, tools and other equipment allegedly stolen from the properties.
The 40-year-old man was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with:
- Dispose property – theft – serious indictable offence more than $5000,
- Enter building/land with intent commit indictable offence (two counts),
- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse (two counts),
- Larceny value less than or equal to $2000,
- Larceny value more than $15000.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 yesterday (Tuesday 15 September 2026), where he was formally refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court on Tuesday 22 September 2026.
