Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a non-fatal shooting in Broadmeadows on Wednesday afternoon.
With assistance from the Special Operations Group, a 22-year-old man was arrested on Central Grove in Broadmeadows around 1.15pm this afternoon.
The Dallas man was interviewed by detectives and charged with
– Intentionally causing injury
– Reckless conduct endanger serious injury
– Common law assault
– Possess unregistered handgun
– Use Firearm in a public place
– Possess cannabis
– Possess prescription medication without a prescription
– Handle stolen goods
– Commit indictable offence whilst on bail
He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court later today.
The charges follow an incident where a 31-year-old Broadmeadows man was shot in the lower body following a verbal altercation about 3.10pm on 7 October.
He sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was taken to hospital.
The two men are believed to be known to each other.
