Police have charged a man, after an extended follow throughout Melbourne’s south-east on 9 October.
Operation Trinity officers spotted the Holden Commodore utility, allegedly bearing false registration plates in Chadstone about 12.50am.
Officers attempted to intercept the vehicle after it came to a stop on Robert Street.
The vehicle allegedly took off with police deploying stop sticks, deflating the vehicles tyres.
At times, the vehicle allegedly travelled at speeds of up to 200km/h, at stages, driving on the wrong side of the road.
The vehicle was dumped in Springvale and the driver allegedly ran from the vehicle, before being arrested nearby.
The 31-year-old Seaford man has since been charged with a range of offences including, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, drive in a manner dangerous, drive at a speed dangerous, theft of motor vehicle, possess drug of dependence and drive whilst disqualified.
The man appeared before Dandenong Magistrates’ Court today and was remanded until 12 October.
