Man charged following two firebombed cars in Concord – Strike Force Millynn

A man has been charged after two cars were firebombed in Sydney’s inner west earlier this year.

About 3.30am on Thursday 13 April 2023, emergency services responded to reports of two vehicles on fire in Flavelle Street, Concord.

Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the fire; however, both vehicles sustained extensive damage.

Detectives attached to Burwood Police Area Command established Strike Force Millynn to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 6am (Tuesday 4 July 2023), police attached to Burwood Police Area Command, with assistance from the South-West Metropolitan Region Operational Support Group executed a search warrant at an address in Dellwood Street, Bankstown.

A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with 2 x counts of destroy property in company use fire and be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He was refused bail and appeared at Bankstown Local Court today (Tuesday 4 July 2023) where he was formerly refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Wednesday 19 July 2023.

Inquiries by officers attached to Strike Force Millynn continue.
