Man Charged For Allegedly Contravening Sanctions Laws

Following a referral from the Australian Sanctions Office, the Australian Federal Police has charged a western Sydney man for allegedly sending funds to designated entities in contravention of Australian sanctions laws.

The offence carries a maximum penalty of ten years’ imprisonment, or a fine of up to $825,000, or three times the value of the contravening transaction.

The man is expected to appear in court today.
