A man has been charged with assault and outstanding warrants after attempting to rob a man in western Sydney last year.
Just after 5pm on Saturday 24 November 2018, a 28-year-old man was waiting for a bus at St Marys Bus Interchange when he was approached by a 33-year-old man.
The older man allegedly threatened the victim, who refused to hand over his property.
The two men then boarded a bus and the offender allegedly slapped the victim before sitting down.
The incident was later reported to police.
Officers from the North West Transport Action Group initiated an investigation.
About 10.30am today (Thursday 24 January 2019), police arrested the 33-year-old man at an address in Tregear.
He was taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob, common assault, and three outstanding warrants.
He was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Thursday 24 January 2019).
