A 39-year-old man has been charged in relation to a series of deliberately lit vegetation fires in bushland area at Tolmans Hill yesterday.
The man allegedly lit multiple fires near the Southern Outlet and Old Proctors Road shortly before 5:30pm.
The fires were contained by Tasmania Fire Service, with no damage to property reported.
The man was located near the Ridgeway Reservoir a short time later and was taken into custody by police.
He was charged with unlawfully set fire to property, destroy property and drive whilst exeeding prescribed alcohol limit and will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
