Man charged over fires at Firle and St Morris, South Australia

A man has been charged over two fires in the eastern suburbs last week.

About 2.20am on Thursday 1 November police and fire crews were called to the Firle Shopping Centre complex on Glynburn Road following reports of a fire.

When crews arrived they found a number of wooden pallets at the rear of the shops had been set alight. Thankfully, the fire did not spread to any of the businesses.

At the same time, police were alerted to another fire a short distance away on Glynburn Road, St Morris where two wheelie bins had been set alight.

Following investigations by Eastern District CIB detectives, a 43-year-old St Morris man was arrested and charged with two counts of arson.

He has been bailed to appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court on 19 December.
