Man charged with alleged child abuse material offences – Central Coast

A man will face court today charged with alleged child abuse material offences after an investigation on the Central Coast.

In May 2026, detectives attached to Brisbane Water Police District commenced an investigation into the alleged possession of child abuse material by a man in Narara.

Following extensive inquiries, detectives attended a home in Narara to execute a search warrant about 8am yesterday (Monday 15 June 2026).

During the search, police allegedly located and seized several electronics including hard drives, computers, USB drives and mobile phones.

At the home, police were advised that a defused Second World War explosive device was inside the garage.

The premises and neighbouring homes were evacuated while ADF officers attended and seized the device for disposal.

A 54-year-old man was arrested and taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with possess child abuse material.

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 6 today (Tuesday 16 June 2026).
