A man will face court charged with alleged drug supply offences following a vehicle stop in the state’s west.
In November 2025, Western Region Enforcement Squad commenced Strike Force Lazard to investigate the supply of prohibited drugs into western New South Wales.
Following investigations, about 2.10pm yesterday (Wednesday 12 August 2026), Chifley Traffic and Highway Patrol officers stopped a Mercedes vehicle on Durham Street, Bathurst.
The driver – a 29-year-old man – was subjected to roadside testing, which allegedly returned a positive reading for methylamphetamine.
Police searched the man and allegedly located and seized methylamphetamine and cocaine, allegedly worth an estimated street value of $10,000.
He was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station, where two mobile phones were also seized, to undergo forensic examination.
The man was charged with supply prohibited drug and greater than indictable and less commercial quantity and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Thursday 13 August 2026), where he was granted conditional bail to reappear before Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 9 September 2026.
