North Brisbane District police have charged a man and seized a firearm following reports of an assault.
On 12 July, Carseldine police received reports of an incident in Taigum earlier that day where a 26-year-old Zillmere man allegedly physically assaulted and drove a vehicle at a 45-year-old Taigum man.
It is further alleged the pair were known to each other and the Taigum man sustained minor injuries.
Police immediately commenced investigations to locate the man after receiving the report.
At 9.45pm, a Brisbane Dog Squad officer located the Zillmere man hiding in a garden on Grasspan Street in Zillmere.
It will be alleged the man was in possession of shotgun shells and a quantity of cocaine.
A subsequent search of the nearby area resulted in the location of a loaded shotgun.

A 26-year-old Zillmere man has since been charged with nine offences including one count each of assaults occasioning dangerous bodily harm, dangerous operation of a vehicle, possessing dangerous drugs Schedule 1 drug quantity of or exceeding Schedule 3 but less than Schedule 4, driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence, authority required to possess explosives, unlawful possession of weapons Category C weapon, possessing anything used in the commission of crime defined in part 2, possessing dangerous drugs and wilful damage.
The man was remanded in custody and is expected to reappear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on 27 July.
