A man has been charged as investigations continue into the deaths of two men at Gurranang, about 25km north of Grafton.
About 3pm on Sunday 13 September 2026, police were called to a house on Summerland Way following reports the body of a 79-year-old man had been found inside the home.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
About 3.40pm yesterday (Monday 28 September 2026), police attended the same location to conduct further inquiries into the 79-year-old man’s death.
Upon arrival, police located the body of a man inside a shed on the property.
While yet to be formally identified, the man is believed to be aged 59.
A crime scene was established at the home and detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Faneel to investigate the men’s deaths.
Following inquiries, about 12.20pm yesterday (Tuesday 29 September 2026), strike force detectives arrested a 32-year-old man at a hospital in Grafton.
He was taken to Grafton Police Station where he charged with two counts of murder and steal motor vehicle.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 1 today (Wednesday 30 September 2026).
Inquiries under Strike Force Faneel are continuing.
