A 43-year-old Kingston man has been charged with several offences in relation to an incident at Hawthorn Drive, Kingston, on Saturday night.
Police will allege that about 4.20pm, police responded to a call from a member of the public in relation to the dangerous driving behaviour of a grey Nissan XTrail heading into Kingston on the Southern Outlet.
Police located the vehicle in the driveway of a property in Hawthorn Drive about 4.30pm, with the alleged driver inside the house. No one else was at home at the time of the incident.
Police including specialist resources were deployed, and the incident was resolved about 7pm when the man was safely taken into custody.
The man since has been charged with drive whilst disqualified, evade police, wilfully obstruct a police officer, drive under the influence of a drug, threaten police officer, assault a police officer.
He was remanded in custody to appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court this morning.
