Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) detectives are investigating after an injured man was found in Noble Park overnight.
Police have been told the man was found lying near the intersection of Noble and Allan streets about 12.30am.
Attending police believed the man’s injuries appeared consistent with being involved in a collision with a vehicle.
A short time later police were notified that a woman had been assaulted and was involved in an altercation with a man nearby.
Police have set up a crime scene and MCIU detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident
It’s believed both the man and woman are known to one another.
The 37-year-old Noble Park man was taken to hospital with critical injuries while the 36-year-old Narre Warren woman is assisting police with their enquiries.
