Man dies after being struck by bus in Carlingford

A man has died after being hit by a bus in Sydney’s north west last night.

Just after 7pm yesterday (Sunday 3 February 2019), emergency services were called to the intersection of Coleman Avenue and Pennant Hills Road, Carlingford, after reports of a pedestrian hit by a bus.

NSW Ambulance paramedics and officers from The Hills Police Area Command attended and located an unresponsive 70-year-old man.

He was unable to be revived and died at the scene.

Police have been told the man was struck by a public bus while crossing the road.

The scene has since been cleared and traffic is no longer affected.

The driver of the bus, a 37-year-old man, was uninjured and taken to Westmead Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene was established, and officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are continuing inquiries.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed or have dashcam footage relating to the incident to come forward.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
