Man dies after collision in Wallan

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding a fatal collision in Wallan last night.

It’s understood two cars collided head-on, on the Northern Highway about 200m north of the Hume Freeway, on Saturday 27 February about 11.30pm.

A male driver from one of the vehicles sadly died at the scene.

His female passenger has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver from the other vehicle involved was transported by road ambulance to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Northern Highway is closed in both directions at Wallan with traffic diversions in place while police process the scene.
