A man has died today following a house fire in the state’s south yesterday.
About 7.10am yesterday (Thursday 4 August 2025), emergency services were called to an address on South Parade, Wagga Wagga, and found a property alight.
Fire and Rescue NSW removed a man – aged 61 – from the house before NSW Ambulance paramedics transported him to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital in a critical condition.
The fire was extinguished shortly after.
Today (Friday 5 September 2025), police were told the man had died in hospital.
Officers attached to Riverina Police District established a crime scene and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.
A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
