Man dies after incident in state’s far north, South Australia

A 77-year-old man has died after allegedly being stabbed during an altercation between two men at Andamooka, 600km north of Adelaide, today.

A second man suspected to be involved in the incident is currently undergoing medical treatment in Roxby Downs and he is assisting police with their enquiries.

Officers from the SA Police Major Crime Investigation Branch are travelling to Andamooka to assist police from the region in relation to the investigation.

Both men are residents in Andamooka and were known to each other.

Police were first alerted to the incident about 1pm today, ( Friday 8 November) with the victim taken to Roxby Hospital, where he died as a result of his injuries.

No one else is being sought in connection with the incident at this time. However anyone with information is urged to contact police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
