Man dies after single-vehicle crash near Mudgee, NSW

Police are investigating after a man died following a single-vehicle crash near Mudgee yesterday.

About 10.45am (Sunday 26 September 2021), emergency services were called to Queens Pinch Road, near Hazelwood Road, Meroo, following reports a Ford Maverick had left the road and struck a tree.

The driver and sole occupant – a 46-year-old man – sustained critical injuries.

He was assisted by local residents prior to the arrival of police and paramedics, before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital, where he died later that night.

Officers from Orana Mid-Western Police District and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area, is urged to come forward.

A report is being prepared for the Coroner.
