Man dies after stabbing, NSW

A man has died after allegedly being stabbed overnight on the state’s central coast.

About 8.40pm yesterday (Thursday 8 September 2022), emergency services responded to reports of a stabbing at a home on Bateup Drive, Hamlyn Terrace.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 33-year-old man at the location. He was taken to a nearby oval to be airlifted to John Hunter Hospital but died at the scene.

Officers from Tuggerah Lakes Police District arrested a 25-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman a short distance away.

They were taken to Wyong Police Station and are currently assisting with inquiries.

All persons are believed to be known to one another.

A crime scene was established which is being examined by specialist police.
