Man dies after three-vehicle crash – Merrylands

A man has died following a three-vehicle crash in Sydney’s west yesterday.

About 5pm (Saturday 15 April 2023), emergency services were called to Hawksview Street, Merrylands, following reports of a three-vehicle crash.

On arrival, officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were told a Hyundai i30 and a Holden Commodore utility had collided, before the Holden rolled and hit a third parked Hilux utility, which was unoccupied.

Despite the efforts of NSW Ambulance paramedics, the 35-year-old male passenger of the Holden died at the scene.

The driver of the Holden – a 23-year-old man – was taken to Westmead Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and for mandatory testing.

The driver of the Hyundai – a 37-year-old man – was not injured and underwent mandatory testing at Westmead Hospital.

A crime scene was established, and investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding incident.
