Police are investigating a fatal crash in Cockatoo this morning.
It is understood a car driving south-east along Paternoster Road left the roadway and crashed into a tree about 7.25am.
The male driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, who is yet to be formally identified, died at the scene.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Police are keen to speak to the driver of a red vehicle who is understood to have driven past, in the opposite direction, just prior to the crash.
This vehicle is not believed to be involved in the crash.
