Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man in Craigieburn on 15 February.
Investigators have been told a man was seen attempting to break into a car in Hothlyn Drive about 2.30pm.
The man was confronted by residents and a short scuffle ensued.
Emergency services arrived a short time later and police arrested the man.
He was treated by ambulance crews but became unresponsive and died at the scene.
A crime scene has been set up while detectives work to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Two men are currently in custody and are assisting police with their enquires.
