Man dies in hospital after being struck by car at Kiama, NSW

A pedestrian who was injured in a crash at Kiama yesterday has died in hospital.

About 4:25pm (Thursday 16 May 2019), a Toyota Corolla was travelling west on Noorinan Street, Kiama, when the vehicle struck a 69-year-old man and then a parked Pantech truck.

The man was airlifted to St George Hospital in a critical condition.

Early this morning (Friday 17 May 2019), he died in hospital.

The 19-year-old female driver of the Corolla was taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests, before being taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station where she was later released pending further inquiries.

The scene of the crash was examined by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.
