Police will prepare a report for the coroner following a collision in Springvale South on Sunday morning.
It is understood a Toyota collided with a Ford at the intersection of Athol Road and Springvale Road on 6 July about 9.40am.
The driver of the Toyota, an 84-year-old Springvale man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries where he later died.
The driver of the Ford, a 77-year-old Fawkner man, was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
