A man has been extradited to NSW and charged following an alleged shooting in the state’s north earlier this month.
About 8.50pm on Saturday 10 July 2021, a 15-year-old boy was shot, and his 45-year-old father was assaulted, in Camelia Way, South Grafton.
Both the man and teenager have since recovered from their injuries.
Officers from Coffs/Clarence Police District commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, about 2pm on Monday (27 July 2021), officers from the Coomera Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) arrested a 30-year-old man at a park on Parkvista Circuit by virtue of an outstanding NSW arrest warrant.
He was taken to Southport Watchhouse, as detectives from Coffs/Clarence Police District travelled to Queensland where they applied for and were granted the 30-year-old’s extradition to NSW.
Yesterday (Wednesday 28 July 2021), he was taken to Tweed Heads Police Station and charged with shoot at with intent to murder and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear at Tweed Heads Local Court today (Thursday 29 July 2021).
