Man extradited from QLD over attempted murder at Chippendale, NSW

A man will face court today after being extradited from Queensland over the alleged attempted murder of two men at Chippendale earlier this month.

About 8.40am on Saturday 6 July 2019, emergency services were called to a house on Shepherd Street, Chippendale, following reports of a stabbing.

Two men, aged 20 and 25, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in serious conditions.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command established a crime scene and an investigation was commenced by detectives under Strike Force Geer.

Two men, aged 18 and 21, have previously been charged over the incident and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, officers attached to Brisbane City Investigation Branch arrested a 21-year-old man at a hotel at Spring Hill, Queensland, last Saturday (20 July 2019).

Strike force detectives travelled to Brisbane, where they applied for and were granted the man’s extradition to NSW.

The man was escorted to Sydney before being taken to Mascot Police Station and charged with two counts of wound with intent to murder and specially aggravated break and enter cause wounding.

He has been refused bail to appear at Central Local Court today (Thursday 25 July 2019).
