Man faces court after dog found caught in steel jaw trap


There are 4 cases scheduled for court hearings in January

A 32-year-old man is due to appear in the Mt Barker Magistrates Court charged with ill treatment of an animal in relation to a small dog that had its front left foreleg caught in an allegedly illegally set steel jaw trap located on the defendant’s property in the Adelaide Hills.

A 59-year-old man is due to appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court next month to face six charges of ill treatment of an animal in relation to three dogs. One of the dogs, a Rottweiler, was found injured and in critical condition and was humanely euthanased by a vet. The other two dogs have been rehomed.

A woman is due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court to face three counts of ill-treatment of an animal in relation to three horses, all found in emaciated condition on a property in the East Murray District near Tailem Bend. One of the horses was euthanased due to its extremely poor condition, one has been rehomed and the other will be rehomed via an external equine rescue organisation that assists RSPCA SA with horses in need of rehabilitation and care.

A male defendant is due to appear in the Murray Bridge Magistrates Court to face two counts of ill treatment of an animal in relation to a one-year-old dog found inside a filthy, small room in Murray Bridge. The dog has been rehomed.
