Man found with $800,000 worth of methamphetamine

Detectives from the Drug and Organised Crime Division have arrested a 28-year-old male in possession of 150 grams of methamphetamine with a street value of $800,000 at a road block at Adelaide River yesterday evening.

The male was travelling to Darwin when his vehicle was apprehended. The male was charged with:

  • Supply Schedule 1 Drug Commercial Quantity
  • Possess Schedule 1 Commercial Quantity
  • Possess Schedule 2 Drug Less Traffickable Quantity
  • Driver With Prohibited Drug In Body

The male attended the Darwin Local Court today where he was refused bail and remanded in custody to appear at the Darwin Local Court on 10 April 2019.

In a separate incident, detectives from the Gangs Task Force executed a search warrant in a Darwin CBD apartment yesterday afternoon following the arrest of a male who was extradited to Queensland.

During the search police located a Browning pistol, nineteen vials of steroids, a packet of 1000 empty capsule containers and other indicia of drug supply.
