Man in court over drug supply and firearm offences, NSW

A man will appear in court today charged with drug and firearm offences following an investigation into drug supply in the Wagga Wagga region.

The Wagga Wagga Region Enforcement Squad established Strike Force Clematis to investigate the ongoing supply of prohibited drugs, namely methylamphetamine, in the Wagga Wagga Region.

Following inquiries, investigators identified a man believed to be involved in this drug supply and executed a search warrant on a home in Calpac Place, Old Toongabbie yesterday (Wednesday 22 January 2020).

Officers located and seized a number of firearms, drug-related items and cash.

Paramatta Detectives returned to the home at 5pm and arrested a 49-year-old man.

He was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity), possess shortened firearm, possess unregistered firearm-pistol, possess ammunition w/o holding licence and possess prohibited weapon without permit.

He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 23 January 2020).
