Man in court over wounding, NSW

A man will face court today charged over an alleged stabbing at Homebush West yesterday.

About 3.15pm (Sunday 9 August 2020), a 28-year-old man – allegedly armed with a knife – arrived at a home on Marlborough Road, Homebush West and threatened a 25-year-old man.

Police will allege the younger man was stabbed in the chest by the older man during a physical altercation.

The injured man was taken to Auburn Hospital by friends. He was later taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

The older man fled the scene.

Detectives from Auburn Police Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police arrested the 25-year-old man at a home on Kemp Street, Granville, about 8.40pm.

He was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Monday 10 August 2020).
