Man in critical condition after being hit by utility in Epping

A man is in a critical condition after being hit by a utility at Epping today.

About 9.30am (Monday 10 August 2020), emergency services were called to the M2 near the Beecroft Road off-ramp after reports a pedestrian had been hit by a utility.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended and were told that a man, believed to be aged in his 30s, was attempting to retrieve some material off the road when he was hit by a white Mazda utility.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.
