Counties Manukau Police are investigating a firearms incident that occurred in Waiau Pa this afternoon.
Police were called to Wrights Road around 2:05pm following a report that a man had received a gunshot wound.
The man was taken to Middlemore Hospital where he remains in a critical but stable condition.
Police are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Detective Inspector Va’aelua says a Police presence remains on Wrights Road, where a scene guard is currently in place at the address.
