Man on run after crash Aldinga Beach, South Australia

Police are searching for a man at Aldinga Beach after he fled the scene of a crash this morning.

About 7.15am Saturday 15 May, emergency services were called to Main South Road after a car crashed into a power line, and rolled, bringing lines down. Witnesses report seeing a man extract himself from the car and run away.

Southern patrols, along with police dog PD Jax and PolAir searched the area but have been unable to locate the man at this time. Patrols located a firearm and ammunition buried on a nearby property ad are investigating if it is linked to this incident.

Main South Road was closed for several hours while SAPN repaired the powerline and police cleared the scene, but it has now been reopened. The Toyota has been towed; investigations into whether the car is stolen are ongoing.

Crime Scene Investigators attended the scene to examine the firearm.
