Man released after Reservoir hit-run

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have interviewed and released a 26-year-old Thomastown man over an alleged hit and run collision which occurred in Reservoir on Sunday night.

Investigators have been told a 57-year-old man from Preston was crossing the road at the intersection of Spring and Edwardes streets when he was struck by a car about 9.50pm.

It’s alleged the driver then drove off but returned 30 minutes later.

The Preston man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injures.

The Thomastown man was arrested at the scene released pending further enquires after being interviewed today.
