Man reported after fire started by power tool, South Australia

Police have cautioned a worker after a fire ignited at Mount Barker today.

Just after 3pm on Wednesday 30 January, police and CFS crews attended a construction site on the corner of Eagle Street and Aldrin Street after reports of a fire in an adjacent paddock.

CFS extinguished the fire within minutes and no properties were damaged.

Enquiries by police revealed a construction worker had been using a concrete cutter (without a Schedule 10 Permit) which sparked the fire.

The 25-year-old from Smithfield was reported for using a cutting tool without a Schedule 10 Permit and issued with an adult caution.
