Police Air Wing have rescued a man who became stranded on a rock whilst fishing in Tarwin Lower yesterday.
The 56-year-old was about 200 meters from shore at Bear Gully at 3.30pm and was fishing for approximately four hours.
He noticed the tide come in around the rock and was unable to get back to the beach.
His friend was on the beach and called Triple Zero.
Air Wing spotted the man and winched him to safety where the Mitcham man was checked by paramedics but did not require any treatment.
