An investigation is underway after a man’s body was located near a beach in Wollongong earlier today.
Shortly after 9am (Monday 30 March 2020), police and emergency services were called to Puckey’s Estate, North Wollongong, following reports a man’s body was found in shallow water.
A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced by officers from Wollongong Police District.
The man’s personal belongings were located nearby.
The death is not being treated as suspicious.
While he is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be an Illawarra man aged in his 40s.
A report will be prepared for the information of the coroner.
