Man serious after hit and run in Cabramatta

A man has been seriously injured in a hit and run at Cabramatta overnight.

Emergency services were called to Cumberland Street, at the intersection with Cabramatta Road, about 10.15pm (Sunday 8 November 2020), and found a 22-year-old man with serious head injuries.

The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital under police escort.

Officers from Fairfield City Police Area Command established a crime scene with officers from the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) conducting inquiries.

Police have been told the man was with two friends crossing Cabramatta Road when he was struck by a red or burgundy-coloured hatchback, which failed to stop.

Inquiries are continuing.
