Man seriously assaulted during Traralgon home invasion

Latrobe Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses after a man was attacked during a home invasion in Traralgon on Wednesday night.

The incident which took place at an address in Nixon Court, Traralgon when the homeowner, a 64-year-old man, was confronted by two men as he was walking out his front door at 9.30pm.

One of the men was armed with a metal bar and demanded that the victim hand over any cash he had on the property.

The victim refused and was assaulted by the men sustaining serious facial injuries.

The victim lost consciousness and was later conveyed to hospital.

Police believe the man’s wallet containing an amount of cash was stolen during the home invasion.
