Man seriously injured after ‘one punch’ assault in Kariong

A man remains in a serious condition in hospital after an alleged ‘one punch’ assault on the Central Coast yesterday.

About 10:30pm (Tuesday 25 December 2018), police were called to a house on Fox Close, Kariong, following reports a man had been assaulted.

Officers were told the 27-year-old man was allegedly punched once to the face by another man.

As a result, he fell to the ground and momentarily lost consciousness.

He was driven to Gosford Hospital, suffering a broken jaw and nose, possible fractured eye socket and loose teeth.

He remains in a serious condition.

Officers from Brisbane Water Police District have launched an investigation into the incident.

As inquiries continue, anyone with information or mobile phone footage, is urged to come forward.
