Man stabbed, one charged in Penrith

A man will face court today after another man was allegedly stabbed with a bottle at Penrith yesterday.

Emergency services were called to Station Street just after 6.30pm (Sunday 10 February 2019), where they found a man suffering stab wounds to his chest and shoulder.

The 45-year-old has been taken to Westmead Hospital, where he is expected to undergo surgery.

Police have been told the man was stabbed with a broken glass bottle following an altercation.

Officers from Nepean Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

A 43-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Penrith Police Station.

He was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Kingswood man was refused bail to appear at Penrith Local Court today (Monday 11 February 2019).
