Man to be charged after stabbing in Maroubra

A man is being charged after two men were stabbed at Maroubra overnight.

Just before 9pm (Thursday 26 September 2019), a 30-year-old man allegedly broke into a vehicle which was parked outside a premises on Hannan Street.

The owner of the vehicle, a 28-year-old man, and another man, aged 67, confronted the man and attempted to detain him within the vehicle.

The 30-year-old forced his way out of the vehicle and became involved in an altercation with the two men, during which he allegedly produced a knife and slashed at the two men.

The 67-year-old man suffered wound to his face, and the 28-year-old man suffered a wound to his bicep.

The two men were then able to restrain the man and police were called.

They were taken Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment to their injuries. The older man requires surgery to repair his facial wound.

The 30-year-old man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment to a head injury he received during the incident.

Following his treatment, he was taken to Maroubra Police Station where he is currently being charged with several offences.
