Man to be extradited from QLD after Chippendale stabbing, NSW

Police will seek the extradition of a man with an outstanding warrant, after two men were seriously injured in a stabbing at Chippendale earlier this month.

About 8.40am on Saturday 6 July 2019, emergency services were called to a home on Shepherd Street, Chippendale, following reports of a stabbing.

Two men, aged 20 and 25, were treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in serious conditions.

Officers from Redfern Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.

Two men, aged 18 and 21, have been charged over the incident and remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, about 8.30pm yesterday (Saturday 20 July 2019), officers attached to Brisbane City Investigation Branch attended a hotel at Spring Hill, Queensland, where they arrested a 21-year-old man with an outstanding NSW warrant for alleged offences relating to the Chippendale stabbing.

He was taken to the Police Watch House Brisbane, where detectives attached to Redfern Police Area Command will seek his extradition.
