Man to face court over stabbing at Liverpool, NSW

A man will appear in court after allegedly stabbing another man in Liverpool earlier this week.

About 8.45pm (Tuesday 27 October 2020), emergency services were called to the intersection of Campbell and Macquarie Street, Liverpool, following reports that a man had been stabbed.

Police were told that a 26-year-old man had been stabbed in the back by another man while walking his dog along Elizabeth Drive at Liverpool.

The injured man was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.

The other man fled the scene on foot.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

About 6.30pm yesterday (Thursday 29 October 2020) officers arrested a 47-year-old man at Liverpool Railway Station.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with wound with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

The Sadleir man was refused bail to appear in Liverpool Local Court today (Friday 30 October 2020).

The men are believed to be known to each other.
