Each year, our program of managing the length of grass at sportsfields, parks, roadsides and other areas managed by Council escalates at the start of spring.
This year, we have faced some challenges that are being addressed.
A new service provider taking a long-term approach to the work, – developing suburbs’ natural landscape maturing quickly, and continuous rainfall over many weeks at the start of spring have culminated in longer than usual grass in multiple areas for this time of year. We recognise that this is of concern to many in our community and we apologise.
Extra scheduling to address long grass in the City of Whittlesea is underway, and you will notice significant improvement by mid-November.
