Maribrynong detectives end burglary spree

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have arrested and charged two people following an alleged burglary spree across the western suburbs.

The offences included theft of motor car, theft, burglary and deceptions which spanned several months from August through to October.

The first arrest took place at an address on Collinson Street in Keilor Park where a 40-year-old Taylors Hill was apprehended in possession of car keys belonging to a stolen car.

A short time later, as part of the same investigation, a 35-year-old woman was arrested at her home address on Elizabeth Street in Braybrook.

Police allege the pair attended a number of gyms or leisure centres where they would steal handbags containing car-keys and credit cards.

The pair would then allegedly use the keys to steal the victim’s car or use their cards to purchase goods.

The Taylors Hill man has been charged with 104 offences including burglary, thefts and deceptions and remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 6 November while the woman was remanded to the same court on 17 October on ten counts of theft and deception.
