At about 4:40pm a semitruck and trailer collided with the front of a locomotive train on Mariott Street, Westbury.
Neither driver nor any bystanders were injured as a result of the crash.
Marriott Street, Westbury between Lyttleton Street and Meander Valley Road is to remain closed until further notice, whilst Tas Rail conduct further investigations into the crash. The crash caused extensive damages to the truck, trailer, and engine carriage of the train.
At this stage of the investigation police believe inattention to be a contributing factor.
