Ms Maya Stuart-Fox is the first statutory Head of Environment Information Australia (EIA). She will start on 1 July 2026.
She is experienced in leading diverse national reforms, including work across climate change, the environment and Indigenous affairs.
Ms Stuart- Fox said, “I am excited to be taking up this new role. I look forward to working with governments, industry, researchers and the Australian community. My aim is to make the best information on Australia’s unique biodiversity easier to find, share and use.”
She will work closely with the CEO of the National Environmental Protection Agency (National EPA) to support environmental decisions made by the Government.
The Head of EIA was established under the Environment Information Australia Act 2025 (EIA Act).
